For decades, the prevailing wisdom in education was that high self-esteem would lead to high achievement. The theory led to an avalanche of daily affirmations, awards ceremonies and attendance certificates — but few, if any, academic gains.

Those in EQUIP know that the self-esteem movement is not only prevalent in our public education system; it is fully ingrained in most Christian homes and churches. So any breakdown of our culture's love of self-esteem is a good thing.
May we find our esteem only in Christ!
