Two Reminders for Sunday

This Sunday - there are two things you need to come prepared for:

1. Thanksgiving Offering

• Our budget is based on a 50-week calendar. Each year we take two Sundays (Resurrection Sunday and the Sunday before Thanksgiving) and give toward particular projects. This Sunday is one of those weeks. Please pray about going above and beyond to reach some HUGE goals we have.
• The first part of the offering goes toward transition issues for our new youth pastor (moving expenses; computer; health insurance - $11,000); the next piece goes to improve the sound quality in the worship center.  We will be able to take this improvement right into our new building ($6000); the remainder goes toward adding a stage in the gym to help our school and church ministries!!
• Again, please pray about what role God wants you to play in this special Thanksgiving offering.

2. Voting on Mark Nelson

• Mark has been here for over a week candidating for the position of youth pastor. It has been a great week.  Hopefully you have had an opportunity to interact with Mark and Gretchen.
• If you are a member, please stop by the church library (across from the nurseries) to vote.

I look forward to Sunday!!  By the way, we also will have a prospective intern visiting Sunday.  If he comes (spring or summer of '08) we won't call him "the new guy." Instead, we will call him "the New Toby." :)

OK, I have a new adjective that I can add to my vocabulary. Anything that is new or green will carry the adjective of "Toby":
- I need to get a Toby job.
- I love that Toby car smell.
- I feel like a Toby man.
