I'm convinced that gratitude is one of the most powerful attitudes in our lives. When we choose to be thankful and show gratitude to God and others - it changes US! So - can I encourage you with an assignment or two?
Before Wednesday night's Thanksgiving Eve service (7:00 PM) - think of ONE thing you are thankful to God for. Second, think of SOMEONE you are thankful to God for. Then - tonight, at the Thanksgiving Eve service - come prepared to share one of those things. These services are a HUGE blessing to me each year, and I've discovered that the more people who participate - the more encouraged I get!
Psalm 35:18 says, "I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people I will praise you." The power of praise is amazing. I encourage you to be prepared to briefly share one thing or one person you are thankful to God for Wednesday night!
And secondly, I encourage you to take a couple of minutes between now and Thursday night - to write that person a thank you note, an email, or give them a phone call and let them know how God has used them in your life. It will encourage them more than you can imagine... I'm SURE of it!
